A CyberLynk Dedicated server is a server that is leased to a single customer. The server hardware, routing equipment, software and network connectivity are monitored and maintained by CyberLynk.

What is the difference between Managed and Dedicated Servers?

  • With a Managed Server, CyberLynk maintains everything from hardware to software.
  • With a Dedicated Server, CyberLynk ONLY maintains the hardware. The customer maintains ALL the server software.

  • CyberLynk Dedicated hardware only.
  • CyberLynk Dedicated hardware plus Dedicated operating system (OS) (including core Internet applications) (see Managed Server)
  • CyberLynk Dedicated hardware, OS, core Internet applications plus additional applications installed and maintained by CyberLynk (like Microsoft SQL server!) (see Managed Server)

All systems are available with standard configurations of CPU(s), RAM, storage, RAID, etc. and each system is configured with core Internet software (Web server, FTP server, mail, etc.) along with selected utilities and the latest security patches, service packs and hot fixes. Load balanced and/or clustered servers for high availability and high performance applications are also available

CyberLynk services are monitored 24x7 by CyberLynk’s Network Operations Center Monitoring System which monitors every critical aspect of your Dedicated Server as well as our end-to-end network infrastructure.

I. Every CyberLynk Dedicated Server includes the following:

  • A high-speed dedicated Internet server configured to our published specifications designed to meet your application needs
  • A dedicated 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connection on a DS3 connection
  • All server hardware and maintenance and any hardware failures are CyberLynk's responsibility.
    99.97% Network uptime guarantees*
  • Monitoring and notification of server hardware: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

  • Multiple connections to a variety of Internet backbones
  • Assistance in domain name registration with the InterNIC authority
  • DNS service for your Dedicated Servers domain name

II. CyberLynk has several different Server Configurations already set. Each server package was built with performance, speed, quality and reliability in mind. Please take a look at CyberLynk’s Server packages. If none of these servers meet your qualifications, CyberLynk can issue a quote for a server that meets your specifications.

You can decide which service fits your needs or work with our highly trained staff to match the most appropriate service to your requirements.

Internet Traffic Information
Does your current provider allow you to see the Internet traffic your company generates on a dialy basis? CyberLynk keeps traffic graphs for every connection on our network and monitors them 5 minutes. CyberLynk customers have unlimited access to their Internet traffic graph.

Deployment Procedures
To ensure continuity, the Dedicated Server setup process is coordinated by a single point of contact: your Dedicated Server Engineer. Expect the setup process to be about one month from order entry to final acceptance. Administrative, technical and emergency contact information for your company is collected and added to our Network Operation Center database. Your CyberLynk team members responsible for ongoing support of your Dedicated Server are identified and you are provided with contact names and phone numbers to allow you to reach CyberLynk 24 hours a day in the event of trouble. Provisions are made and communicated to you for remote server control and content updates using secure and encrypted methods. Finally, your server is made available for content loading, management and availability to the Internet.

Performance and uptime commitments
Through state of the art technology, we guarantee that our Dedicated Servers will be available 99.9% of the time*. All servers will be available to customers for their use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week except during scheduled maintenance.

CyberLynk’s 24x7 Network Operations Monitoring System allows us to monitor all aspects of your server and our end-to-end network infrastructure to deliver optimal performance for things such as processor/memory utilization, memory management and bandwidth utilization.

CyberLynk also offers 24 hour/7 days a week emergency technical help desk support as well as 8:00 to 5:00 M-F enhanced support.

All CyberLynk Dedicated Servers come with a Service Level Agreement. Your SLA determines credits to your account in the event that CyberLynk does not meet specific availability/uptime commitments. Credits are specified for network availability and hardware availability*.
